Press Release «Week of the Adult Education of Ukraine-2011" EKORUH "With love to live in the III millennium"


During 25 years after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 we have witnessed numerous new large-scale technological and chronic man-made problems, which led to a sharp deterioration of the environment. Immediate problem arose to strictly compare and coordinate daily activities of scientific and technological development of the society with the fundamental laws of life on Earth.
On the occasion of 25th anniversary of the beginning of the liquidation of the Chernobyl disaster consequences, the Ukrainian Union of Disabled liquidators "Chernobyl-86" together with Ukrainian Coordinating Bureau of the International Public-state program "Adult Education in Ukraine" with the assistance of the Institute of Lifelong Learning UNESCO and the Ukrainian trade Union of working age disabled and youth public organizations "Cossack victories" and the Center of spiritual development and creative initiatives "Harmony" are carrying out in 2011 educational activities of very topical subjects - EKORUH "With Love to life in the III millennium" - from 11 to 20 September 2011 distance international scientific-practical conference "Noosphere adult education: real state and prospects of revival of a safe environment" and the promotional and artistic relay - Marathon "1986 - Chernobyl - Black Sea 2011".
In order to draw attention to the tragic consequences of the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Coordination Bureau of the International Public-state program "Adult Education Ukraine" invites leading scientists and experts in environmental safety as well as artists to convey to the public its authoritative conclusions and attitude towards the critical deterioration of the environment, as well as proposals for the revival of its security in its articles on the proposed traditional annual conference.
Moreover, it is expected to make a special compact container, which will contain printed information on the conclusions of the conference and an appeal to the descendants who will in the next 25 years with the aim to unite the efforts to improve the ecological condition of the environment.
The promotional-sportive marathon will start on the 12th September from construction side of the "Shelter" ("Sarcophag") over the destroyed 4th block of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant - from the place of work in 1986 of the participants of the disaster - the initiators of the campaign. The route of this relay is along the Dnieper River – along the continuing migration of Chernobyl radionuclides by the downstream of the Slavutych river and its tributaries.
The final destination - Cape Tarkhankut in Crimea, where in 1968 was built and installed under water by the enthusiasts Donetsk-divers one of the world's first home-lab "Ihtiandr-68."
Due to the relay the container will be delivered to the shores of the Black Sea. There, divers will plunge the container in sufficient depths of the sea and hide in the ground until the time of the appointment with the addressees in 25 years. We hope that our descendants will weigh on our appeal to them and repeat the same action, and that this relay will be the beginning of a long continuing tradition started by us EKORUH.
In 1987 Kyiv film studio of popular film has filmed very disturbing for that time film on the subject of scientifically forecasted tragic consequences of intensive anthropogenic pollution of the Black Sea "Sea with a double bottom" (directed by Almar Serebrenikov, cameraman Edward Hunskyy. In underwater filming participated diving specialist George Shanayev - the author of this idea and event).
We have witnessed a number of major catastrophic events in the Black Sea during these 25 years. Which conclusion arises?
Regarding the man-made disasters at nuclear facilities, unfortunately they were happening before and after Chernobyl, as evidenced by the current terrible disaster in Japan - Fukushima. Our action is aimed at categorical prevention of similar accidents in the future.

All the collected publications, film and photo materials, etc. will be deposited in the National Museum "Chernobyl" in Kyiv.
Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine has also approved the idea of
​​this action.
