Eternal respect and gratitude to the heroes

The quarter of the century we carry in our heart the pain caused by the destructive catastrophe at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

         On the 26^th of April we commemorate 25 years of the Chernobyl tragedy – the biggest man-made and social disaster of the 20^th century. This day was announced an International Day Commemorating Victims of Radiation Accidents not only in Ukraine, but also in CIS countries, in particular the Republic of Belarus and Russian Federation.

         On the 25 anniversary Ukraine paid tribute to those who lost their lives in fight with radiation: firemen, scientists, engineers, workers and policemen.

         The country has honored its heroes-liquidators which paid their lives and health for the peace on the planet. These heroes came at the call of their heart to Chernobyl and practically with bare hands have covered the destroyed reactor, have saved Ukraine and the world from the terrible disaster.

         All of us in this memorable day feel the great appreciation and respect before the bravery, sense of duty and devotion of thousands of participant s of the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident – Ukrainians, Russians, Belarusians, Kazakhs, Georgians and representative of other former USSR republics.

         Chernobyl planetary nuclear catastrophe will stay forever in the memory of the humankind. The 25^th Anniversary of the terrible accident in the XX century has drawn one more time the attention of the world community to the world’s disaster, that has happened to the people of Ukraine, Russia, Belorussia. This catastrophe has forced many people to think differently and to unite their forces helping us all in the name of the life on the Earth. All of us have to join our efforts to overcome its heavy consequences and to prevent such accident to happen in the future.
